Job Advert: Teacher - Primary teacher 1.0 MPS

We are seeking an enthusiastic, inspirational primary teacher to join our school team for two
terms, starting in January 2024.


We are looking for a KS2 class teacher who has a secure understanding of the KS2 curriculum, who is a highly skilled practitioner and who is able to deliver a broad, balanced curriculum to our children which progresses both their knowledge and skills. Our wonderful children here at Seaton are well-behaved, well-mannered, keen to learn and they enjoy the additional experiences they have by attending Seaton, such as swimming, forest school
and field visits to Seaton Wetlands.

The successful candidate will be highly skilled in:

  • Modelling learning to children including modelling talk and vocabulary
  • Planning, teaching and assessing core subjects and the wider curriculum
  • Building strong relationships and rapport with children, showing care, empathy and commitment to children
  • Classroom management and organisation
  • Being a responsive teacher, capitalising on teachable moments and in the moment feedback in lessons
  • Effectively deploying learning support assistants to enhance learning
  • Inspiring and enthusing a love of learning in the classroom through delivering wellplanned, engaging and motivating lessons
  • Ongoing assessment using a range of assessment for learning strategies
  • Supporting children with SEND needs
  • Experience in delivering a broad, balanced curriculum enriched with visits, visitors and experience days

Vacancy for Learning Support Assistant (SEN)

Salary: Grade C
Contract: named to a child
Appointment: 32.5 hours potential for 0.8 for the right candidate
Term time: 39 weeks per annum
Start date: January or February 2023

Are you passionate about working with children? Are you keen to ensure all children are supported to access learning and the full curriculum?

If so, we are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to primarily work within one of our Year 4 classes supporting a small number of children with SEND needs.

We are seeking a candidate who understands varying SEND needs and who is able to adapt learning to meet the needs of children. The candidate will work within a well-established team in Lower Key Stage 2. Our children are well-behaved, respectful and keen to learn. The children are working at different levels and require different levels of support.

We are seeking a candidate who has experience working with children with additional needs (whether personally or professionally).

The successful candidate needs to be comfortable working 1:1 following a personalised curriculum for the child and working to support the child integrating and interacting with their peers within the classroom.

The essential skills and qualities required for this role are:

  • Ability to support children within the classroom environment and in 1:1 or small group intervention
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable and positive and nurturing in approach
  • Ability to build rapport and strong relationships with children
  • Ability to take own initiative, adapting learning in the moment and breaking learning down to small steps, and work within a team taking direction from the class teacher
  • A knowledge and understanding of how children learn
  • Good oral and written English language skills

The desirable skills and qualities require for this role are:

Trained in Speech and language intervention

  • Level 2 or 3 teaching assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Trained in speech and language therapy or language interventions
  • Trained in delivering Read Write Inc (phonics)
  • Experience of working with children with SEND needs, including learning needs and physical needs
  • A knowledge of the Year 4 national curriculum expectations
