Year 4 Trout and River Project
Year 4 successfully released 25 baby trout back into the River Axe after rearing them with love and care for a number of weeks. We received the trout as eggs and have loved watching them grow and develop in real time. From tiny orange eggs, to whizzy babies with fins and gills, it's been amazing to see the trout life cycle play out in our classrooms. This brilliant project, organised by the Blackdown Hills National Landscape, taught the children about how vital our local rivers are and how we can work together to protect the habitat they provide for so much wildlife.
