Our Explicit Leaning Model

In year one, we are 'learning how to learn'. Specific subjects, such as history and art, are planned to help children build the collaborative, independence and self-regulation skills they need to become life-long learners. Within these sessions, the aim is to give children ownership of their learning and to build key meta-cognitive skills.
