Welcome
We are committed to providing our children with the best possible start to school and to building the foundations that will enable every child to achieve and be ready for their next stage. We focus on the development of each unique child. We work with children to grow their independence, resilience, knowledge, skills and confidence. It is our vision to inspire every child's love of learning and to ignite a child's natural curiosity in the world around them. We aim to create confident readers and communicators by engaging children in high quality language and literacy work through quality first teaching, starting phonics right from the start, speech and language intervention and building strong relationships between adults and children. Through our achievement of our vision our children will be ready for their next stage of development and learning.
We have designed our own Early Years curriculum bespoke to our school which is informed by Development Matters and with the intent of promoting and fostering the characteristics of effective learning which are:
playing and exploring - children investigate and experience things, and ‘have a go’;
active learning - children concentrate and keep on trying if they encounter difficulties, and enjoy achievements; and
creating and thinking critically - children have and develop their own ideas, make links between ideas, and develop strategies for doing things.
